2 pm on Sunday December 11th in the lovely War Memorial Church in Eskdale.

The program includes Vaughan-Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols and a selection of seasonal favourites.

Octavius is based in Napier, and sings music of many different genres, mostly set in eight-part harmonies.  The choir of 10 singers has been performing since 2017;  highlights include collaborating with Iona College in a variety show in the Blyth Centre, performing at Mangapapa Hotel during an Art Deco festival,  a concert in the Waiapu Cathedral in 2020 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, and singing Christmas Carols for patients and staff at Cranford Hospice. Octavius was founded by Anthony Tattersall, who directs this choir and also the Waiapu Cathedral Choir, the Cathedral Strings, and the Young People’s Choir.
